Greeting to you all

Haven't we had some wet, wild, weather lately. What can we say except "roll on Summer" The last three months have given us rain, wind and cold weather. Our Obedience, Agility, and Flygility classes have all been cancelled nearly every week. This has been very frustrating for members and trainers, especially when there Ribbon shows and Championships to prepare for. I have found myself with fingers and toes crossed, hoping that this week will be different and classes not cancelled.

Presidents Note:

Hello to you all new and returning members, I am trying to talk about soething other than the weather which seems to have dominated so much space in our daily lives over the last few months.

For your information: we have a variety of volunteer organisations that we are members of,  Rosalind and I are volunteers for Outreach Therapy and with club members Kaye, Jane, and Andi we are all members of Bark NZ. Gina is a volunteer with the SPCA.

Club News:

Dog Registrations:  The Auckland Council at the beginning of September became aware that the website regthedog.co.nz which appears to have a formal relationship with other councils in NZ has been accepting payments for Dog Registration for Auckland dog owners. Auckland Council only accepts payment for dog registrations directly, not through third parties. The council is not affiliated with any business offering this service on its behalf, icluding regthedog.co.nz.  The Auckland Council have issued a cease and desist notice and advises if anyone has used this service to register their dog/s, they should contact the Auckland City Council.

Stats: There are around 20,000 dogs in Auckland that have still not been registered.

The Pet Expo was held at the ASB over the weekend 30th September - 1st October. This great event is for celebrating pet ownership with sales and marketing of pet products for all types of Animals. A few of our club members were there representing the various voluntary organisations. Also a small team put on a display of Dog Dancing in the centre ring. It was a good weekend for all.

The National Dog Show  was held over the weekend 5thOctober - 8th October at the Vodaphone Event Centre Manukau. This event is for Breed Showing and Obedience. We had a few of our members representing Norwest DTC,  We are pleased to say that they all competed well and came away with placings and prizes.

Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for the Pick of the Pack.  This choice is done weekly by one of our trainers.

Club Shop Our club shop is run by Sue McDiarmid. Sue would like to let members know that we have for sale Leads, Gentle Leaders at very resonable prices. We also have in stock a few other bits and pieces such as dumbells, also a very limited range of training aids.
